The best Asian restaurants in London
"Sushisamba is always a hit for Asian dining, with excellent food (think Japanese with a South American twist) and stellar views at its City site. Located at the famed Opera Terrace atop the historic Grade II-listed Market Building, this striking space is crowned by an Eric Parry-designed glass roof. Bold in design, the restaurant offers a host of inviting dining and drinking experiences: from the bar with its ‘living ceiling’, the exposed kitchen and high energy sushi bar, to the terrace overlooking The Piazza below, and the private dining room with its own entrance and terrace."

Drink up: the best City of London rooftop bars
"Sushisamba – the Brazilian, Peruvian and Japanese joint – is finally back up and running, and is certainly one of the best City of London rooftop bars. The indoor restaurant is now open as well as both outdoor terraces. Choose between the sprawling views on the East Terrace or toast the summer on the Tree Terrace under our iconic 26ft orange tree."

11 Incredible Vegetarian Restaurants to Try in London
"The first thing to be said about this homely, two-room East Sheen venue is that, although it is vegetarian, it uses some cheeses with animal rennet, including Parmesan — chef-proprietor Emerson Amélio de Oliveira strongly believes these have a superior flavour. That said, the eco-friendly venue, with sustainability at its heart, has by far the most inventive vegetarian menu in London. Oliveira comes from a Brazilian-Italian background; and this is reflected in dishes such as hand-made pastas and risottos, alongside the use of Amazonian fruit and veg."

The 10 best American dishes to try in London
"Head up to the northern states, and it’s all about salivating over seafood. In most parts of the world, lobster is a pocket-pinching luxury, and so serving it hot dog-style in a bread roll slathered in mayo feels decadently naughty. Soho seafood restaurant Claw serves its lobster in this style, like they do in New England, mixing native Colchester lobster with crayfish and Szechuan mayonnaise, topping it with shoestring fries and putting it all in a brioche bun."

"01/06/2021: Visited on a Saturday evening around 7pm with wife and kids as we fancied burgers and this place seemed to have good reviews and was close by.Ordered 3 burgers, 1 portion of loaded fries and some nuggets. Everything is served on grease proof paper which is a bit odd but I guess that’s the vibe.Every single dish was horrid and none of us finished anything. The waiting staff couldn’t care less and didn’t ask at any point during our visit if everything was ok or if we wanted something else.Toilets were actually disgusting. All this for almost £70 too!!"

Patty and Bun definitely live up to its reputation – this is one of the cheap eats in London not to be missed."

The food here is also izakaya style, but with a considerably more upmarket twist. A dynamite spider maki sees soft shell crab spiked with chilli mayonnaise, while tuna is rolled with homemade chilli miso and yuzu tobiko."

"Violet Cakes is a bakery in East London that’s fast become famous for its American-style cupcakes with seasonal buttercreams as well as its whoopie pies, birthday cakes, and quiches. Owner and head baker Claire Ptak used to work as a pastry chef for Alice Waters at Chez Panisse in California and has brought all her years of experience with her to… Dalston, of all places.
