The Top 9 London Restaurants With a View
"Known all over London for being the city’s loftiest restaurant and one of its very few 24-hour establishments, Duck and Waffle is a destination du jour for the most glamorous of hungry late-night partiers. Although it constantly buzzes throughout its regular hours of service, dishing out small plates of ox cheek doughnuts, foie gras crème brûlée and the like, its star dish – the eponymous duck and waffle – is what sets tongues wagging after 3am. A crispy, fatty confit duck leg, already decadent in and of itself, is served atop a freshly baked Belgian waffle, drenched in a mustard-maple syrup and then topped with a fried duck egg."

"08/03/2021: Since the lockdown and with all restaurants closed, ordering online was a good option to have some of my favourite meals. I have ordered from Wagamama a couple of times and both orders have NOT been to the standard of Wagamama food. The first order, my all-time-favourite Yaki Udon was awful with missing ingredients, overcooked udon noodles, tasteless and inedible but the vegan sticky “ribs” were very good, so when I ordered for the second time I was very disappointed as the vegan sticky “ ribs” were not what I had before, they were inedible, tasteless, absolutely different than vegan sticky “ribs” I have previously ordered from Wagamama."

"Since he left The Square – considered by many the archetypal restaurant of London’s Nineties excess – diners waited to see where he would emerge. Where The Square was all nouvelle cuisine, delicate portions and far-reaching technique, Elystan Street offers a dichotomy in big portions, big flavour and an even bigger welcome. Head chef Toby Burrowes’s cooking follows this mantra perfectly."

"After moving on from King’s Cross, Bodega Rita’s is back in a new neighbourhood with the same old excellent sarnies. Rita’s doesn’t believe in overcomplicating things, so the menu features standout sandwiches like the Tony, filled with pesto, prosciutto, spiced salami ventricina, smoked cheese, pickled salad & cheese dust; the King Banh Mi, a vegan take on the Vietnamese staple with roasted oyster mushrooms, peanut butter, carrot & daikon pickle, coriander, mint, peanuts & pickled chilli; and the Second City, a hoagie roll stuffed with fennel roast pork belly & crackling, seasoned greens, high five spicy mayo, crispy shallots, parmesan pork dust & lemon oil. The Bodega Rita’s tacos have also made a comeback with carnitas and suadero – that’s slow roasted pork and beef shin – versions available at the new shop."

"The always-excellent sarnie spot Bodega Rita’s in King’s Cross sadly shut up shop last year, but the good news is that Rita is rising like a phoenix from the ashes and coming back with two new eateries. First up is a new Bodega Rita’s in Clerkenwell, which will be bigger and have an extended menu, although the details are very much under wraps for now. They’re also launching a new Soho restaurant called Rita’s, which will be serving up dishes such as hot bean devilled eggs, grilled sugar-pit pork neck and a bistro-style ‘steak dinner for two’ with smoked-anchovy caesar and fried potatoes."

Top tips for London museums with toddlers and kids
"Another of London’s most popular museums with younger kids, this is ideal if you have children who like to get hands on, but with collections covering science and technology from the oldest surviving steam locomotive to the model of DNA and the forerunners of computers, this is a museum that you could revisit over and over again. Along with the space and flight galleries, you can follow humanity’s technological advances, medical history, more interactive displays and also the IMAX 3 cinema showing documentaries. Only a few areas are aimed at toddlers and preschoolers, in particular The Garden which is focused on under-fives at the Science Museum- although with exhibits that make noise, a mini puppet theatre, areas to climb and play and the water feature (always a big favourite), this area alone can entertain younger kids for quite some time."
